BIO:

For over 28 years, April J. Berube, President and CEO of The Wellington Agency, has been placing elite household staff in homes and family offices across the nation. The clientele she caters to are high-net-worth individuals and dignitaries including governors, presidents, foreign country leaders and even a Saudi prince. These households trust this Dynamic Woman’s expertise above all else.

Berube was a new mom in 1995 when she discovered her nanny’s poor treatment of her infant. Equally upsetting was the lack of action the hiring agency took after hearing Berube’s case. “I’ve always loved a challenge and fighting for those who need help,” she says. So, Berube took the initiative and opened her own award-winning nanny agency in Boston called Nanny Poppins, INC, connecting highly experienced, vetted nannies and childcare providers with her clientele. It is still one of the leading nanny agencies in the Northeast.

Now at the helm of The Wellington Agency, she caters to clients’ unique, sometimes highly eccentric, household needs. From formal housekeepers, nannies and estate managers to private chefs, security and chauffeurs, Berube and her team exceed hiring expectations. The agency was awarded the Yellow Ribbon by The White House in 2006 for its volunteer services supporting American veterans and their families.

Up next, Berube looks to expand her staffing into Italy and France and spend her summers there. She thanks her husband and three grown children, two of which work at the agency, for being an incredible support system.
